Miami Heat Make Roster Move Before Hornets Game

The Miami Heat have assigned a player to the G League.

On Monday evening, the Miami Heat will be in North Carolina to face off against Gordon Hayward and the Charlotte Hornets.

For the game, the Heat will be without Nikola Jovic, who was assigned to the G League (Sioux Falls Skyforce).

Via Ira Winderman of The Sun Sentinel on Sunday: "The Heat have sent Nikola Jovic to the G League."

Jovic has played in four games for the Heat so far this season and is averaging 3.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest while shooting 33.3% from the field and 42.9% from the three-point range.

The Heat are the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 12-10 record in their first 22 games.

They are 4-6 over their last ten games and most recently lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers by a score of 111-99 (Jovic did not play in the game).

Jovic was the 27th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and is in his second season in the league (all with the Heat).

Over 19 regular season games, the 20-year-old has career averages of 5.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest while shooting 39.5% from the field and 26.2% from the three-point range.

Last season, he also played in 12 G League games, so it's no surprise to see him go back and forth between Miami and Sioux Falls.

Following Monday's game, the Heat will play their next game on Wednesday when they face off against the Hornets (again), but at home in Miami, Florida.
