Phoenix Suns Reportedly Sign 3-Year NBA Player

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Phoenix Suns will sign Ish Wainright.

UPDATE: The Phoenix Suns have officially signed Ish Wainright.  

The Portland Trail Blazers waived Ish Wainright in January.  

He appeared in seven games and averaged 2.9 points and 1.3 rebounds per contest while shooting 33.3% from the field and 37.5% from the three-point range. 

On Monday, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that Wainwright will now sign a two-way deal with the Phoenix Suns.

Via Charania: "The Phoenix Suns are bringing back forward Ish Wainright on a two-way NBA contract, agents Jim Tanner, Deirunas Visockas told @TheAthletic @Stadium. Wainright played seven games for Portland this season after past two years in Phoenix."

Wainright spent the first two seasons of his career with the Suns and averaged 3.4 points and 1.8 rebounds per contest while shooting 37.8% from the field and 32.8% from the three-point range in 105 games (two starts). 

He also appeared in 13 NBA playoff games with the Suns over the previous two seasons.   

As for the Suns, they are the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a 35-26 record in 61 games. 

They are in the middle of a two-game losing streak and are 5-5 over their last ten games. 

Most recently, the Suns lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder by a score of 118-110. 

Following the Thunder, they will play their next game on Tuesday evening when they visit Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in Colorado. 

The Suns are coming off a season where they lost to the Nuggets in the second round of the NBA playoffs.
