Phoenix Suns Starter Ruled Out Against Mavs Due To Personal Reasons

The Phoenix Suns will be without one of their best players for Monday's game.

On Monday evening, the Phoenix Suns will host the Dallas Mavericks in Arizona.

For the game, the Suns will remain without starting center Jusuf Nurkic, who has been ruled out due to personal reasons (h/t Duane Rankin of azcentral).

Nurkic also missed the team's last game, so this will be his second straight out of action.

Nurkic is in his first season with Phoenix and is currently averaging 12.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.2 blocks per contest while shooting 46.4% from the field and 26.6% from the three-point range in 27 games.

The Suns are 14-14 in their first 28 games, which has them as the 11th seed in the Western Conference.

They are 3-7 over their last ten games and in the middle of a two-game losing streak.

Most recently, the Suns lost to the Sacramento Kings by a score of 120-105 (in overtime).

Following the Mavs, they will play their next game on Wednesday evening when they visit the Houston Rockets in Texas.

Nurkic is in his tenth season in the NBA and has also spent time with the Denver Nuggets and Portland Trail Blazers.

His career averages are 12.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 blocks per contest while shooting 50.0% from the field and 28.7% from the three-point range.

As for the Mavs, they are 17-12 in their first 29 games, which has them as the sixth seed in the Western Conference.

They are 6-4 over their last ten games and most recently defeated the San Antonio Spurs by a score of 144-119.
