Recent NBA 1st Round Pick Will Reportedly Work Out For 76ers

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Philadelphia 76ers will work out Kai Jones.

Kai Jones most recently played in the NBA during the 2022-23 season when he was a member of the Charlotte Hornets.

He averaged 1.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per contest while shooting 55.8% from the field in 46 games.

Jones was waived before the season and is currently a free agent that is available to sign with any team in the league.

On Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that Jones will likely work out for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Via Charania: "The 76ers are planning to work out and meet with former Hornets first-round pick Kai Jones in the coming days, sources tell me."

Jones was the 19th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Texas and has played two seasons in the league (all with Charlotte).

The 23-year-old has career averages of 2.7 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 56.7% from the field and 23.8% from the three-point range in 67 games.

Since he is still so young, he could be a good addition to the 76ers (or another team).

The 76ers got off to an excellent start to the season but have dealt with injuries and are currently the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference with a 35-27 record in 62 games.

They have gone 4-6 over their last ten games and are also in the middle of a two-game losing streak.

On Friday evening, the 76ers will play their next game when they host Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans in Pennsylvania.
