The Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers, two bitter long-time rivals, square off again in the 2023 NBA playoffs. They meet in a best-of-seven second round series, staring Monday night in Boston.

It's the 22nd time the Celtics and 76ers have met in a playoff series, the most between any two teams in NBA history. Boston won the season series 3-1, but it's the Sixers who looked more impressive, sweeping the Brooklyn Nets in four games while it took Celtics six games — and nearly an extra week — to beat the Atlanta Hawks in six games.

The big story line is the health of Philadelphia center Joel Embiid, who is doubtful with a knee injury. He's be a game-time decision. How important is he? Well, in the one game the Sixers won over Boston during the regular season, he scored 52 points and had 13 rebounds.

Fastbreak on FanNation publisher hosted the Fastbreak Podcast this week, and his special guest was Fastbreak senior writer Ben Stinar. They have a great preview of the series. Check it out.
