The Run For A Million Returns to Vegas Featuring Elite Horsemanship & Entertainment

Experience elite horsemanship and entertainment at The Run For A Million in Las Vegas. This event features top-tier competition, star-studded entertainment, and the making of "The Last Cowboy" Season Five.

The Run For A Million, the richest event in the history of reining and the most exciting and thrilling new event in cow horse and cutting, will take place at the prestigious South Point Arena and Equestrian Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, from Aug. 12-17. A sold-out event year after year, The Run For A Million puts the highest level of performance horse competition and winnings, including a purse of $1M for the Million Dollar Reining Competition event, on full display for attendees. It also features six jam-packed days of world-class entertainment and culinary offerings.

Taylor Sheridan made his debut in the high-stakes world of elite horsemanship by creating The Run For A Million in 2019 with business partner Amanda Brumley, Brumley Management Group. The Academy Award-nominated screenwriter and owner and operator of the legendary Four Sixes (6666) Ranch and Bosque Ranch set out to showcase the talent of both horse and rider in reining and later added cutting and cow horse competitions.

“The Run For A Million has evolved into the premier event in western equine sports, with the mission of promoting the very best horses in the world,” Taylor Sheridan says.

Not only does the week-long event feature the top, toughest athletes competing for hard-earned titles, prize money, and bragging rights, but spectators get a firsthand seat to the making of Season Five of Paramount Network’s unscripted reality show, “The Last Cowboy,” set to premiere in November of this year. Created by Sheridan, creator, writer, director and executive producer of multiple record-breaking Paramount Network series including "Yellowstone," "Mayor of Kingstown," "Tulsa King," "1923," "1883" and "Special Ops: Lioness," the series follows the real-life cowboys and cowgirls competing in the high-stakes sports of reining, cow horse and cutting, as they train for the prestigious culminating event, The Run For A Million.

As part of The Run For A Million’s dedication to offer audiences from around the world access to the best country music artists and promote new and emerging artists, there will be screened performances in the Bit N Spur Saloon located in the South Point Grand Ballroom. Bit N Spur Saloon ticket holders and online live broadcast subscribers will enjoy the featured artists for each performance from Thursday, August 15, through Saturday, August 17. These artists include Stephen Wilson Jr and Jackson Dean and conclude Saturday evening with a performance from 2024 Grammy Award-winner Lainey Wilson.

The Run For A Million exemplifies the grit, beauty, and tenacity of western ranching culture, with a focus on educating attendees about the legacy of American ranching and farming, how it contributes to sustainable food production, economic opportunities in rural areas, and the preservation of our natural resources. Sheridan recently launched Four Sixes Ranch Brand Beef 6666ranch.com, which retails premium quality beef sourced from the Four Sixes Ranch and a network of various ranches. This year, The Run For A Million will offer farm-to-table food options for Bit N Spur Saloon attendees.

“The Run For A Million is the pinnacle of entertainment, including fierce competition and world-class performances; whether you have been part of the western industry your whole life or are putting on a pair of cowboy boots for the first time, this event is for you,” said Amanda Brumley, producer of The Run For A Million. “Taylor has rejuvenated the passion of ranching traditions with his 'Yellowstone' and prequel series. He has brought back the love of the cowboy lifestyle and all that it entails, as reflected in both fashion and musical scenes. The Run For A Million provides a space for spectators to come together to experience the adrenaline rush Western equestrian sports performances offer.”

The event features several performance horse competitions, including the Million Dollar Reining competition, Cow Horse Challenge, Cutting Horse Challenge, Open Shoot Out, and Cowboy Heritage Ranch Challenge, among others, including amateur, youth, and rookie competitions.

Tickets, starting at $35, will go on sale on June 1, 2024. Those unable to attend the event in person can subscribe to the live-stream broadcasting via the event’s website
