Jacek Frost claimed the first-day lead in bareback riding at the Pendleton Round-Up on Wednesday, as he seeks his sixth outright title in the event this season.

The Browns Valley, Calif., native has won three of his five solo titles in his native California, along with victories at the Cinch World's Toughest Rodeo in Indianapolis and the MSU-Northern PRCA Extreme Bares & Broncs Challenge in Havre, Mont.

On Toy Soldier, a bronc supplied by Sankey Pro Rodeo & Phenom Genetics, Frost finished with an 84-point ride.

Frost entered Pendleton at No. 21 in the saddle bronc standings. Last season, his first on the PRCA circuit, Frost won just $1,760 and finished No. 112 overall.

Kody Lamb, who is just ahead of Frost in the overall bareback standings, was second on Wednesday with a 81.5-point ride. The Sherwood Park, Alberta, native has won all of his title this season north of the border.

Same goes for Clint Laye, who finished third on Wednesday with an 80.5-point ride. Laye, out of Cadogan, Alberta, entered the event No. 41 in the bareback riding standings.

After that, there was a four-way tie for fourth place with 79-point rides from Dantan Bertsch, Clayton Biglow, Bradlee Miller and Jacob Raine.

Biglow is the highest-ranked rider of the four, as he entered Pendleton No. 4 in the event and seeking his eighth individual titles this season, along with two shared championships.

Miller entered Pendleton ranked No. 27 and Raine entered ranked No. 43.

The Pendleton Round-Up continues through Saturday.
