The 2022-23 NBA season was easily the most tumultuous year in the career of Kyrie Irving. In addition to being traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Dallas Mavericks, the perennial All-Star guard lost his signature sneaker deal with Nike.

While Nike and Irving will both be fine without each other, it's the fans who are taking the biggest hit. The Nike Kyrie line spanned nine signature models (the ninth never launched) in addition to multiple budget-friendly lines.

Irving's final signature shoe to launch was the Nike Kyrie Infinity. After months of discounts, the performance basketball shoes finally sold out. However, the hoop shoes were recently restocked online and are available for $70 in adult sizes on the Nike website.

The Nike Kyrie Infinity launched in 2021 for $140 in adult sizes. The shoes feature a translucent upper material that is lightweight and breathable. In addition, the padded collar is partially separated around the heel for snug support around the Achilles tendon.

Meanwhile, the three-layer cushioning system contains an Air Zoom Strobel in the forefoot sandwiched between a molded insole and foam midsole. Lastly, the data-informed rubber traction pattern provides the foundation of the shoe.

The breakup between Irving and Nike can be traced back to the Nike Kyrie Infinity. Irving accused Nike of excluding him from the design process and disparaged the shoes before eventually wearing them on the court throughout the 2021-22 season.

Now is the perfect time for loyal fans and hoopers to purchase a great pair of basketball shoes at an uncommonly low price online. Stay locked into FanNation Kicks for all your footwear coverage.
