There are not many athletes who enjoyed more success last year than Lionel Messi. The soccer icon almost single-handedly did more for the sport in the United States than decades of hard work from other athletes, teams, and organizations.

Upon Messi's arrival in South Florida, adidas rolled out a full-scale marketing campaign to meet the unprecedented demand for pink and black Inter Miami gear. The Three Stripes released apparel, jerseys, and sneakers to match their signature athlete's productivity on the pitch.

With such a productive year in the rearview mirror, it appears that Messi and adidas are keeping their foot on the gas in 2024. Multiple outlets are reporting that the adidas Samba will be released in a purple and white Messi-inspired colorway. Below is everything we know about the unreleased sneaker.

The Messi x adidas Samba features a white upper, grey suede toebox, gum outsole, purple stripes, and neon yellow branding on the tongues. It appears the purple is inspired by Argentina's purple road kits from the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which were designed to highlight gender equality.

Adidas has not yet confirmed the highly anticipated sneaker release or provided any launch information. However, it is safe to say these kicks will sell out to soccer fans and fashion-forward individuals quickly. Messi has proven capable of moving products, and the adidas Samba was one of the hottest sneakers among celebrities last year.

Online shoppers who do not want to wait can go ahead and shop Messi's collection on the adidas website.
