Any fans or industry experts worried about the signature sneaker line of Ja Morant languishing due to his time away from basketball can set aside any worries. Since returning to action, Morant has combined his stellar play with several exciting colorways of his first signature sneaker with Nike.
On Tuesday night, Morant poured in 26 points and ten assists in the Memphis Grizzlies' 106-98 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. The Grizzlies point guard used the opportunity to debut a never-before-seen colorway of the Nike Ja 1 that paid tribute to the WNBA.

There is no indication that the orange and white WNBA-inspired colorway will be released to the public. The silver lining is that athletes and fans can choose between several colorways of Morant's sneakers at a discount in select styles on the Nike website.
Morant became Nike's first signature Gen-Z athlete in the NBA when his sneaker line officially launched in Spring 2023. Since then, the Nike Ja 1 has taken the basketball world by storm thanks to its sleek design, fire colorways, and loyal fanbase.
However, the first year of the NBA All-Star's sneaker line has been anything but smooth. The initial launch was delayed to suspension, a colorway was altered to soften the language, and an ESPN host said he was boycotting the Nike Ja 1. Still, Morant's talent and authenticity have proved capable of withstanding the heat.
It has already been over a year since Morant debuted the Nike Ja 1 on Christmas Day 2023. While we are excited to see what the future holds for Morant's sneaker line, we hate to see this incredible hoop shoe go away.
