Tempo vs. Wings Prediction, Odds, Best WNBA Prop Bet for Wednesday, Aug. 12

In this story:
A three-game losing streak has bumped the Dallas Wings back to the No. 8 spot in the WNBA, but they are favored to end that streak on Wednesday night against the Toronto Tempo.
Marina Mabrey and the Tempo have fallen completely out of playoff contention, dropping nine games in a row to fall to 12 games under .500. The injury to star guard Brittney Sykes really derailed the Tempo’s first year in the W, and they’ve struggled mightily on the defensive end all season long.
Meanwhile, Dallas is still in a great spot to make the playoffs despite the recent skid.
Paige Bueckers is an MVP candidate (though she’s a long shot to win), and Dallas has gone from a 10-win team last season to 19-14 through 33 games in 2026.
Can the Wings cover the spread at home? They’re currently 4-4 against the spread as home favorites but lost their last home game by double digits to Golden State.
Let’s take a look at the odds, a player prop to bet and my prediction for the third meeting between these teams in 2026.

Tempo vs. Wings Best WNBA Prop Bets
Wings Best WNBA Prop Bet
- Paige Bueckers OVER 22.5 Points (-121)
This season, Bueckers is averaging 20.1 points per game while shooting 51.1 percent from the field and 39.3 percent from beyond the arc.
The former No. 1 overall pick is taking 15.1 shots per game for the second season in a row, and she may need to be more aggressive if the Wings want to snap their three-game skid on Wednesday night.
Bueckers has thrived against Toronto in two meetings this season, scoring 22 points and 34 points while shooting a combined 22-for-38 from the field. This prop is asking her to clear her season average, but the Tempo are the worst defensive team in the league, ranking dead last in both defensive rating and opponent points per game.
After a 23-point showing in a loss to Minnesota on Sunday, Bueckers could be in line for a big game against a much weaker opponent.
Tempo vs. Wings Prediction and Pick
Dallas has dropped three games in a row and six of its last 10 to fall into the No. 8 spot in the WNBA.
While the Wings are still in a good position to make the playoffs, they went into the All-Star break as a top-four seed. So, Bueckers and Co. need to get back on track to avoid a brutal first-round matchup with a team like Minnesota or Las Vegas.
Over their last 10 games, the Wings haven’t given bettors much to get excited about, posting a minus-1.3 net rating. They’re still 4-4 against the spread as home favorites, but can we trust them in this matchup?
I believe we can, but only because Toronto has been even worse as of late.
The Tempo have a net rating of minus-19.0 over their last 10 games – by far the worst mark in the WNBA. On top of that, the Tempo have dropped nine games in a row and are just 4-11 straight up on the road despite covering the spread in 10 of those games.
There is an argument for Toronto to keep this game close since Dallas has been in a slump, but the Tempo defense has been awful, ranking last in points per game allowed and defensive rating. Dallas also has won by double digits in both of the meetings between these squads in 2026.
I’ll bet on a Wings bounce back at home as they look to avoid the No. 8 seed this season.
