Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Ohio high school athlete of the week for Dec. 20-26. Read through the nominees and cast your vote. Bethany Bonar, Bellaire girls basketball 

Bonar led the Reds with 15 points in a 53-42 road win against Shadyside. 

Graesin Cass, Northmor boys basketball

Cass led the Golden Knights with a career-high 22 points in a win over Loudonville.

Ray Ellington, Westlake boys basketball

Ellington had a school-record 45 points as Westlake routed Oberlin 101-65.

Sean Keller, Elder boys basketball

Keller had 26 points and went 8 for 14 from three-point range as Elder defeated Badin 80-30

Gianna Lane, Tree of Life girls basketball

The freshman had 29 points to lead the Trojans to a 61-56 victory over Danville.

Jesse McCulloch, Lutheran East boys basketball

McCulloch had 22 points, 16 rebounds, four blocks and two steals in a home victory against Villa Angela Saint Joseph.

Daniya McDonald, Whitehall Yearling girls basketball

McDonald had 29 points against Grandview Heights, recording her fourth 20+ point game of the season

Luke Parker, Benedictine ice hockey

Parker had the final goal in the third period to beat Olmsted Falls 3-2.

Nick Rini, Padua boys basketball

The senior hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to push the Bruins past Garfield Heights 55-54.

Cate Schieber, Granville girls basketball

Schieber helped the Blue Aces overcome a 14-point deficit with a game-high 24 points and scored her 1,000th career point in the second half. 

R.J. Stoller, Thomas Worthington ice hockey

Stoller had a goal in a 2-1 win over Dublin Jerome.

Olivia Suponcic, Lake Catholic gymnastics

The senior took first place on beam and placed second on vault and all-around. 

Brendan Tahsler, Padua bowling

Tahsler bowled a 718 series and finished as Westlake Demons Classic Tournament MVP to help his team to the tournament championship. 

Matt Tonsing, St. Edward bowling

Tonsing bowled 203-169 for a series total of 372 and a 186 average, helping the Eagles top Westlake 2,523-2,280.

Solé Williams, Princeton girls basketball

Williams had a team-high 33 points, six assists and three steals against Mount Notre Dame to help Princeton snap the Cougars’ win streak at 79 games.
