Here are the candidates for the WaFd BankOregon High School Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 17-23 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Jalen Atkins, Barlow

The freshman guard helped the Bruins earn an 81-43 home win over Sandy, improving the team’s Mt. Hood Conference record to 4-0. In the victory, Atkins scored 22 points, going 8 for 12 from the field and 3 for 3 from the free throw line. He also had six rebounds and four assists. For the season, Atkins is averaging 20 points per game while shooting 50 percent from the field. He has made all 15 of his free throw attempts.

Sol Byles, Newberg

The senior guard scored a game-high 21 points, helping the Tigers top Century 58-52 in a Pacific Conference game played at Newberg High School.

Isaac Carr, Central Catholic

The freshman guard poured in 31 points for the Rams in their 75-36 win at Reynolds in a Mt. Hood Conference contest. Carr scored 11 points in a 65-36 conference victory at Centennial.

Nick DiGiulio, Ida B. Wells

The sophomore guard scored a team-high 18 points, coming on six 3-point baskets, for the Guardians in their 81-58 loss to Lincoln in a Portland Interscholastic League game played at Ida B. Wells High School.

Bryce Dyer, North Medford

The junior wing continued his big season, contributing a double-double, with 16 points and 16 rebounds, for the Black Tornado in their 55-46 Southwest Conference win at Grants Pass.

Neil Efimov, Silverton

The senior wing had a big week for the Foxes. He had 21 points, four assists and three rebounds in a 62-43 Mid-Willamette Conference win over North Salem. He followed by scoring 23 points and having three steals in a 50-34 conference victory over South Albany.

Graham Eikenberry, Lincoln

The 6-foot-10 junior post turned in a double-double for the Cardinals, scoring 20 points and pulling down 11 rebounds, helping them earn an 81-58 win over Ida B. Wells in a Portland Interscholastic League game. Eikenberry scored 22 points in a 65-58 win over Benson.

Colby Evans, Junction City

The senior post scored a game-high 21 points, including nine in the first quarter, helping the Tigers post a 63-49 win over Marist Catholic in a Sky-Em League game played at Junction City High School.

Carter Fortune, Southridge

The sophomore guard helped the Skyhawks earn a couple of Metro League victories. He had 16 points, five rebounds and four assists in a 48-37 win at Jesuit. Fortune then had 14 points, five rebounds and four assists in a 63-41 home victory over Westview.

Joe Fundak, Corbett

The senior scored a game-high 36 points, helping the Cardinals notch a 74-57 win over Molalla in a Tri-Valley Conference opener played at Molalla High School.

Elijah Garcia, Century

The junior guard helped lead the Jaguars to a 68-65 win over Sherwood in a Pacific Conference game played at Century High School. Garcia scored a game-high 27 points, on a 7-for-9 shooting night from the field, while also having five assists, three rebounds and two steals. Garcia had six points and six assists in a 47-38 conference win at Forest Grove.

Andrew Hancock, Hillsboro

The sophomore guard scored 18 points, all coming on 3-pointers, helping the Spartans roll to a 64-41 win over Parkrose in a Northwest Oregon Conference game played at Hillsboro High School.

Kamir Hodge, Westside Christian

The senior guard led a balanced Eagles scoring attack with 15 points in their 59-54 win over Cascade Christian in a Class 3A showdown played at Harrisburg High School.

Isaiah Jones, Baker

The freshman came through in the clutch for the Bulldogs in their 88-87 triple-overtime win over Vale in a nonleague game played at Vale High School. Jones finished with a team-high 21 points. He scored 10 of those points, including the game-winning basket, in the overtime sessions.

Austin Maurer, Cascade Christian

The 6-foot-11 sophomore center had a huge game for the Challengers, with 32 points, 23 rebounds and four blocked shots in a 59-54 loss to Westside Christian in a Class 3A showdown played at the MLK Showcase at Harrisburg High School.

Julian Mora, Summit

The senior guard scored 24 points while also having six assists for the Storm in their 75-43 Mountain Valley Conference win over Bend. With the big night, Mora reached the 1,000-point milestone for his high school career, while also becoming Summit’s all-time assists leader.

Dallon Morgan, Sprague

The senior forward had another big game for the Olympians, pouring in 30 points while also grabbing 12 rebounds in their 73-45 win over West Salem in a Mountain Valley Conference game played at Sprague High School.

Samaje Morgan, Churchill

The senior guard had a huge game for the Lancers in their 82-79 loss to Roosevelt at the MLK Showcase, held at Franklin High School. Morgan scored 32 points to go with eight assists and seven rebounds.

Adrian Mosley, Grant

The junior wing/guard scored a game-high 27 points while also having seven rebounds for the Generals in their 68-53 win over Cleveland in a Portland Interscholastic League game played at Grant High School.

Brennen Neyt, Eagle Point

The senior wing scored a game-high 24 points, helping the Eagles notch a 57-44 win over Grants Pass in a nonleague game played at Grants Pass High School.

Esyah Pippa-White, Gresham

The junior had a strong all-around performance for the Gophers in their 69-39 win over Reynolds in a Mt. Hood Conference game played at Gresham High School. Pippa-White scored a game-high 19 points, while also having nine rebounds and seven assists.

Carson Reno, Lake Oswego

The senior guard, who has received interest from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Benedictine College in Lisle, Ill., and California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, Calif., scored a career-high 24 points for the Lakers in their Three Rivers League opener against West Linn.

Emanuel Romero, Hood River Valley

The senior guard had a big week for the Eagles, scoring at an average of 25 points per game while shooting at a 39 percent clip from 3-point range. He also averaged 5.0 steals and 4.5 assists per game for the week.

Moroni Seely-Roberts, Lincoln

The junior had a double-double for the Cardinals, with 23 points and 16 rebounds, in their 65-58 win over Benson in a Portland Interscholastic League game played at Lincoln High School.

Jackson Shelstad, West Linn

The junior guard scored a game-high 29 points, on a spectacular 13-for-14 shooting night from the field, helping the Lions earn a 76-41 win over Lakeridge in a Three Rivers League game played at Lakeridge High School.

Layne Stricker, Southridge

The senior forward had a double-double, with 10 points and 12 rebounds, as he helped the Skyhawks earn a 48-37 win over Jesuit in a Metro League game played at Jesuit High School. Stricker followed by scoring 18 points and having eight rebounds in a 63-41 win over Westview.

Jared Sucher, Sherwood

The junior guard/wing had a big all-around performance for the Bowmen in their 77-58 win over Liberty in a Pacific Conference game played at Sherwood High School. Sucher scored a game-high 22 points, including 17 in the first half, while also having nine rebounds.

Donatello Tupper, Roosevelt

The senior wing/guard scored a game-high 26 points while also pulling down eight rebounds for the Roughriders in their 77-55 win over Franklin in a Portland Interscholastic League game played at Franklin High School.

Dylan Westlake, Mountainside

The senior guard scored a game-high 18 points to help the Mavericks record a 55-44 nonleague win over Tigard. He also sank a game-winning half-court shot in overtime, helping Mountainside get a 46-43 Metro League victory over Jesuit.

Chance White, Roosevelt

The sophomore guard averaged 20 points per game during the week, helping the Roughriders notch victories over Churchill and Franklin.

Mason Ainsworth, Marshfield

The senior guard recorded 27 points, 7 assists, and 5 steals in 61-56 win over Marist. Ainsworth also had a 63% field-goal percentage during the contest.
