South Carolina basketball playoff roundup
State playoff action began Monday night in South Carolina, with games being played in the boys’ 2-A and 3-A brackets as the girls’ 1-A , 2-A and 5-A brackets. Here are some highlights.
4-A boys
Lexington 77, J.L. Mann 53
Cam Scott led Lexington with 26 points. Jaxon Prunty had 19 points for the Wildcats, who will host Rock Hill or Spartanburg on Saturday. Kaleb Evans added 18 points.
3-A boys
Dreher 34, Philip Simmons 29
Halen Moss led Dreher (9-14) with 9 points while Ryan Dominack had 8.

Wade Hampton (Greenville) 57, South Pointe 46
Nykel Franklin led the way with 23 points and 9 rebounds for the Generals, who are now 13-7. Heath Tankersley had 16 points for the Generals, who host Westside on Friday.
2-A girls
Saluda 64, Pelion 22
Jessica Means poured in 36 points for the Tigers (13-7), who visit No. 1 Keenan on Friday.
3-A boys
Manning 72, Camden 67
Justin Daniels exploded for 49 points as Manning (20-5) turned back Camden’s upset bid 72-67. Jeh’Qwyuan Hilton added 12 points. Izzy Macklin led Camden (8-13) with 36 points and Nyrell Stratford contributed 12.
4-A boys
Catawba Ridge 64, Riverside 55
Catawba Ridge makes history with its first-ever playoff win. Grant Lovette led the Copperheads (23-4) with 21 points while Lance Barnes had 18 and Brady Ambrose contributed 12.
2-A girls
Mid-Carolina 61, Batesburg-Leesville 48
Haylee Gunter led Mid-Carolina with 17 points and Brea Boyd had 14. Mid-Carolina is now 13-10.

Keenan 93, Liberty 30
MiLaysia Fulwiley scored 33 points in the rout. Teirra Griffin added 13 points while Kristen Brown and Samiyah Hicks each had 10.
3-A boys
Lakewood 53, Loris 49
Myles Squirewell, a 6-foot-6, 245-pound post player, dominated with 28 points and 15 rebounds as Lakewood (9-18) pulled off the upset. Loris ended its season with a 16-4 record.
2-A girls
Kingstree 54, Buford 26
Malaysia Felder scored 19 points and collected 6 steals as Kingstree (15-6) rolled. Takiyah McGee scored 12 points while Makayla Dukes had a double-double with 10 assists and 10 steals.
5-A girls
Dutch Fork 48, Goose Creek 32
Hillary Offing led the Silver Foxes (14-9) with 21 points. Aaliyah Lee had 11 points.
4-A boys
South Florence 49, Westwood 48
The Bruins (15-11) won at the buzzer on a layup by Jamarie Brown, who led South Florence with 15 points. Dashed McFadden added 10 points.

Darren Lloyd led the way with 15 points while Deuce Hudson had 12 points and Bryson Graves 11 for the Knights, who are now 17-9.

Alaina Nettles led Cane Bay with 22 points.

Merel Burgess scored 24 points as the defending state champions had a successful opening to the playoffs. Tristan Thompson had 17 points while Xavier Brown and Josh Leonard each added 10.
