E.A. Laney Buccaneers edge Hoggard Vikings 54-51 in North Carolina high school basketball game

E.A. Laney’s Lawrence Newkirk led the way with 20 points as the Buccaneers beat Hoggard Vikings 54-51 in a game at Wilmington, NC.

Newkirk’s points came on 6 field goals, 2 three pointers and 2 of 4 free throws during the game.

Shane Hawkins added 20. Hoggard fell to 3-1 overall while E.A. Laney improved their record to 2-0.

Hoggard’s next game is scheduled to be played at home on Thursday Jan. 28 versus Ashley. E.A. Laney will travel to South Brunswick HS on Friday Jan. 29 to play South Brunswick.
