Report: Minnesota Twins second baseman Brian Dozier to participate in Home Run Derby

Minnesota Twins second baseman Brian Dozier will participate in the Home Run Derby next week, reports Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. 

Dozier leads all major league second basemen with 16 home runs. He will join Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista, Athletics outfielder Yoenis Cespedes, and Orioles outfielder Adam Jones on the American League squad. Dozier becomes the second notable player to commit to the Derby Tuesday, following Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig

Dozier's home ballpark, Target Field is hosting the All-Star Game activities this year. The Derby will take place July 14 at 8 p.m. ET.
