Angels Cut Two Pitchers From Spring Training Camp Roster

The Angels are making moves.

The Los Angeles Angels cut two pitchers from their Spring Training camp rosters earlier this week. The Angels optioned right-hander Jack Kochanowicz and re-assigned Adam Kolarek to minor league camp, via Angels PR.

Both Kochanowicz and Kolarek saw minimal action through Cactus League games this year. Kochanowicz pitched three innings and allowed one hit, one walk and zero runs. Meanwhile, Kolarek pitched 3.2 innings and gave up seven earned runs on five hits and four walks. He also notched seven strikeouts.

The 23-year-old Kochanowicz has started 48 games through his minor league career since he was drafted out of high school in the third round in 2019. He has a minor league career ERA of 5.78 with a 1.45 WHIP.

Meanwhile, the 35-year-old Kolarek is a veteran now with previous major league experience on the Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Dodgers, Oakland Athletics and New York Mets. Kolarek has a career ERA of 3.62 and a win-loss record of 11-4.
