The Los Angeles Angels should be getting a major piece back this week. Manager Phil Nevin said that he expects Anthony Rendon to return to the lineup Tuesday or Wednesday. The third baseman has been out, dealing with injury for the last few weeks.

Los Angeles is in the thick of things for potential playoff contention and need all the help they can get right now. They sit only a few games back of a Wild Card spot and need to start putting together more consistent outcomes.

Since signing with the Angels in 2020, Rendon hasn't been the same player that he was prior to joining the team. He hasn't played more than 58 games in a season since coming out West as injuries and inconsistent play on the field have doomed his Angels tenure.

However, prior to his injury this season, Rendon was putting together a decent year. Currently sitting at a batting average of .301 with one home run and 20 runs batted in over 30 games played. Now these aren't the numbers that the Angels had hoped for when they signed Rendon but just getting him back onto the field should yield better results for the veteran third baseman.
