Dodgers Calling Up Hot-Hitting Outfield Prospect

It's Andy Pagés time.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are calling up outfield prospect Andy Pagés, the No. 94 prospect in baseball according to MLB Pipeline, via Francys Romero.

Amid struggles in the Dodgers' lineup, especially toward the bottom of the lineup, the Dodgers are calling up Pagés.

Pagés was one of the top hitters for Los Angeles during Spring Training. In 17 at-bats in spring, Pagés recorded eight hits, nine runs, two walks, two home runs and nine RBIs while batting .471.

Despite his performance, Pagés got sent down to the minor leagues prior to the Dodgers trip to Seoul, South Korea. The transaction was met with a huge outcry from several Dodgers fans, who were excited by what they had seen from Pagés. While Pagés excelled during the Cactus League, his 2023 season was cut short due to a torn labrum, which required surgery.

Pagés has continued to showcase his hitting prowess in the Triple-A league, hitting .371 while notching 15 RBIs, five home runs and two stolen bases.

It's unsurprising to see Pagés get called up, as even Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said last month that he wouldn't be surprised to see Pagés make his MLB debut this season. What is surprising is how soon Pagés could be making his debut. It was suggested that Pagés could make his debut during the summer, but he'll be making his debut on Tuesday night, just three weeks into the season
