Dodgers Renew Contract of Player Who Last Played in 2018
The Los Angeles Dodgers are a class-act organization. They always do their best for their players — current or former — and this upcoming season, their biggest yet, is no different.
According to the Associated Press, the Dodgers have renewed the contract of former outfielder Andrew Toles for the 2024 season.
The 31-year-old played for the Boys in Blue from 2016 to 2018. However, his career ended in 2019 when the team announced he was dealing with personal matters and was out indefinitely.
He has dealt with mental health struggles for the last few years and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
Since 2019, the Dodgers have kept him on their payroll so he could have access to their insurance. The contracts are non-salary, and Toles is on the restricted list for the entire season.
Nobody does it like the Dodgers, and we wish the best to Toles and his family.
