Former Dodgers Minor Leaguer Announces Retirement From MLB

The 12-year veteran has called it quits.

Former Los Angeles Dodger minor league player and former Gold Gove winner Kole Calhoun has decided to call it quits.

On Friday, Calhoun announced via Instagram that he will be retiring from the game of baseball.

The 36-year-old spent 12 years in the major leagues. He spent most of his career with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim from 2012 to 2019. After that, he played for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Texas Rangers, and Cleveland Guardians.

In Juen 2023, Calhoun signed a minor league contract with the Boys in Blue and was assigned with the Triple-A Oklahoma City Dodgers. He posted a .308 batting average with a .532 slugging percentage, five home runs, and 28 RBIs in 35 games.

In August 2023, he was traded to Cleveland and immediately added to the major league roster.

In his career, Calhoun is a .242 hitter, collecting 1076 hits, 179 home runs, 583 RBIs, and 636 runs in 4448 ABs and 1239 games.

We wish the veteran outfielder the very best in his retirement.
