Justin Turner Gives Advice to Shohei Ohtani on How to Win Dodgers Fans Over

He knows better than most about winning the L.A. fans over.

Justin Turner became a fan favorite during his nine-year tenure with the Los Angeles Dodgers. From the memorable walkoff moments to the 2020 World Series championship and everything in between, he became a true icon for Dodger fans everywhere.

Turner is now with the Toronto Blue Jays after spending a year with the Boston Red Sox, but he was recently stopped on the street by TMZ, who asked about his former team.

Turner was asked how newest Dodger Shohei Ohtani could make himself a fan favorite like Turner was.

"I think he’s doing a pretty good job," Turner said.

Turner was then asked how he could earn the trust of Dodger fans. He had a simple answer.

"Hit homers."

Turner didn't seem very interested in going in-depth in this informal interview, but he's not wrong in the fact that Ohtani is already making himself a fan favorite.

Ohtani's press conference with the Dodgers got more views than the entire 2023 World Series, while his Dodgers jersey broke the Fanatics sales record in the first 48 hours after it was released.

He also made himself a real fan favorite when he gifted Joe Kelly's wife, Ashley, a Porsche after she campaigned for him to sign with the Dodgers saying her husband would give up his No. 17 jersey.

Ohtani is already one of the most popular players on the team, and he's yet to take an at-bat.

Once he gets on that field — and like Turner said, hits homers — he'll continue to win over the entire fan base.
