Ryan Pepiot, Jonny DeLuca Break Silence on Instagram Following Dodgers, Rays Trade

They're onto their next chapters.

The Los Angeles Dodgers' trade for RHP Tyler Glasnow was officially finalized on Saturday morning. The Dodgers acquired Glasnow and OF Manuel margot from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for RHP Ryan Pepiot and OF Jonny DeLuca. The Dodgers gave up two promising young players in Pepiot and DeLuca, but wanted to acquire an ace-level pitcher — and Glasnow fits that bill.

The young Pepiot and DeLuca will now get their opportunities in Tampa Bay, and they each posted on Instagram shortly after the trade was pushed through to share their gratitude.

Here's Pepiot's post, in which he thanked the Dodgers organization and all the people involved.

Thank you to the @dodgers organization for everything since 2019. To my teammates, coaches, staff, and everyone in between, thank you for the lifelong friendships made!

I’m excited for this new adventure with the @raysbaseball!

DeLuca also posted a nice message to all the people he met in the Dodgers' organization.

Thank you for the memories ❤️ It’s been an honor to meet such incredible people in the Dodgers organization. Being able to debut and play in my hometown was truly special. With that said I’m excited for this new opportunity in Tampa Bay! Let’s ride @raysbaseball 😛

It's never easy to trade young players, especially as promising as these two. However, the Dodgers have an influx of talent in their farm system, and needed to make some room for the next wave while simultaneously upgrading their team.

This trade does just that, and also gives Pepiot and DeLuca a potentially larger opportunity in Tampa.
