Since the middle of May, the Dodgers have gone 27-24, and have taken control of first place in the NL West. If the team took out one day of the week, the margin between the Dodgers and Giants in the West could be larger.

This season, the Dodgers have been unable to win on Sundays. The team is winless in the past eight weeks.

The last time the Dodgers won on a Sunday was May 14th when the team defeated the Padres 4-0 in San Diego.

In that game, Tony Gonsolin recorded his first win of the season, Mookie Betts hit the game-winning two-run home run and the bullpen only gave up one hit.

The Dodgers have been unable to repeat the success that they had in San Diego on that Sunday.

Since then, the team has lost to the Cardinals, Rays, Royals and Giants on Sunday. In two opportunities to prove themselves on Sunday Night Baseball, the Dodgers lost to the Yankees and Astros.

In that period of time, the team was unable to cap off two series sweeps of the Mets in New York and the Astros.

The Dodgers hope that this pattern is random and won't be important come playoff time.
