San Francisco Giants Deemed Suitor For Two-Time All-Star Infielder

The San Francisco Giants are viewed as a two-time All-Star infielder to help their struggling offense.

The struggles for the San Francisco Giants were clear again on Friday, losing 2-1 to the Tampa Bay Rays. Sitting at 5-9 on the season, the Giants offense has been an issue during the early part of the year.

Bleacher Report's Zachary D. Rymer listed needs for 10 teams, writing that San Francisco needs middle infield offense.

Shortstop Nick Ahmed is slashing .279/.311/.349. However, he's never been known as an offensive player, with a batting average of .235 in his career.

Thairo Estrada is slashing .185/.196/.278, adding to the Giants' offensive struggles.

To help the offense, Rymer listed multiple middle infielders, including Luis Arraez of the Miami Marlins.

Arraez, a two-time All-Star, and two-time Silver Slugger, has gotten off to a tough start this season, slashing just .259/.365/.333 in 63 at-bats.

In his six big league years, Arraez has finished with a batting average over .316 in every season besides one.

He's not a power threat, hitting just 24 home runs in 2,249 career plate appearances, however, his .324/.379/.424 career slash line shows the type of hitter he is.

Getting on base has been an issue for San Francisco, holding the 10th worst OBP in baseball at .305.

Despite the slower start from Arraez, his .365 OPS would still be a big help to this struggling offense.

The Marlins have been one of the worst teams in baseball, starting the season 2-12. If the struggles continue for Miami, Arraez could be a prime trade candidate.

The Giants could be intrigued in Arraez because he has another year of club control in 2025, not making him a free agent until 2026.
