Bo Naylor Credits This For Recent Success At The Plate, Guardians News

Bo Naylor has an OPS of 1.145 for the Cleveland Guardians in the month of September.

The Bo Naylor era is officially underway for the Cleveland Guardians and their fans. It felt like an eternity for the premier catching prospect to be called up and given the keys to the position, but now he's here.

It took a while for Bo to find his groove at the plate but everything is finally coming together for the 23-year-old. Naylor didn't make a major adjustment or completely redo his swing when he was struggling at the plate. It's all been mental.

He said this about the recent success:

"I'm feeling really good. Just trying to keep my mind fresh and focus on one thing at a time and I think that's been helping me to this point. So, that's where I've been for the last little while and it's been helping me."

The most important thing Naylor said about all of this is that "Ultimately, you play your best when you don't have so many thoughts going through your head." It's impressive that a player with under a year of service time has already figured that out and it will help him in the future.

Whatever Bo is doing, it's definitely working.

The rookie catcher has a slash line of .333/.478/.667 with a 1.145 OPS in the month of September. This includes five doubles, four RBI, and 13 RBI.

Finishing the final month of the season this should strong should have Guardians fans pumped for what they're going to get from Naylor next season. There are a lot of questions and unknowns about what Cleveland's roster will look like next year, but we know Bo will be the catcher moving forward.
