Guardians News: Jose Ramirez's Final Winter League Stats

Cleveland Guardians' Jose Ramirez wraps up his 2023 Dominican Professional Baseball League Winter season.

The offseason is a perfect time to reset, relax, and get your mind right after a grueling MLB schedule. Unless your name is Jose Ramirez

The Cleveland Guardians' third baseman spent the first part of his offseason playing for the Leones Del Escogido of the Dominican Winter League (LIDOM). However, it appears that his time playing has come to an end as the team's X account made a post thanking Jose for participating in the league this season.

Here's a breakdown of Ramirez's stats from his time competing in the 2023 LIDOM:

These stats may not jump off the table as being dominant or out of this world, but they're pretty typical Ramirez numbers.

He finished with a high OPS while doing a little bit of everything at the plate. Ramirez made a ton of contact with the ball as he only struck out twice in those 42 plate appearances.

The biggest highlight of Ramirez's Winter League stint was this moonshot three-run homer back on November 22.

Ramirez played in just 10 games with Escogido, but this was the plan all along. The Guardians organization permitted him to play in the Dominican Winter League for one month and that time has now been fulfilled.

It was a short run for Jose, but a meaningful one at that.

This was the first time that Ramirez has played in the Dominican Winter League since the 2015-16 season. It's been a while since he took the diamond in his home country and Ramirez made a point that he wanted to have the opportunity to play close to home.
