Josh Naylor became a household name last October after he crushed a home run-off of Gerrit Cole in the 2022 ALDS. He famously "rocked the baby" as he rounded the bases screaming about Cole "being my son."

This celebration split fans of the Cleveland Guardians and baseball fans around the world. Some thought it was a fun thing he did in the moment, while others thought it was a little over the top.

It's important to note that this celebration wasn't a one-time thing for Naylor. He had been doing it all season long and kept doing it in the playoffs.

Seattle's pitcher Paul Sewald recreated this after recording the final out, which happened to be by Naylor, after the Mariners defeated the Guardians on Saturday night.

I have no issue with Naylor or Sewald doing the celebration. If you're going to dish it out you better be able to take it, and that goes for both of them.

However, I do think if Sewald was going to do anything he shouldn't have waited until Naylor was behind him. At least when Gleybor Torres did it he was bold enough to look directly at Cleveland's dugout.

If Sewald was trying to get underneath Naylor's skin with the celebration, I'm not sure it's going to work. The Guardians' first baseman has already said he has no issue with others doing it in response.

After Yankee fans tried to mock him with it, Naylor said:

“That was awesome. That was so sick. Honestly, it was like a dream come true as a kid. Playing in an environment like this where they have diehard fans, it’s cool."

Time will tell whether or not Naylor becomes bothered by the celebration because it doesn't appear to be going away any time soon.
