There wasn't a ton to cheer for after the Cleveland Guardians allowed six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning following a catcher's interference by Mike Zunino that would've ended the inning.

That was until highly ranked prospect, Brayan Rocchio stepped into the on-deck circle preparing to make his Big League debut. He swung at the very first pitch he saw, which resulted in his first Major League hit.

They tapped gingerly in front of the plate and barely got halfway to the pitcher's mound. However, Rocchio's hustle down to first forced White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandel to make a perfect throw, which he didn't.

Rocchio watched the ball sail over his head as he rounded first and made his way to second base.

Perhaps not the hard-hit ball that most prospects dream of their first hit being. But a hit is a hit and Rochhio's first is in the books.

Rocchio's debut comes at a cost though. He pinch-hit for Josh Naylor who was removed from the game with right leg soreness.

Now is Rocchio's time to prove that he belongs with the Big League team!
