The Mets are sending relief pitcher Zach Greene back to the Yankees after he cleared waivers on Tuesday, per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

The Mets placed Greene on waivers on Sunday, who will now return to the Yankees for a total of $50,000.

Greene was selected in the Rule 5 Draft by the Mets back in December.

The righty had a rough showing in Grapefruit League play, pitching to a 13.50 ERA, five strikeouts and six walks in 4.2 innings.

With Greene losing out on a spot in the Mets' bullpen, the righty will now be competing for a role in the Yankees' pen.

Greene, an eighth-round pick by the Yankees in the 2019 MLB Draft, posted a 3.42 ERA in 68.1 innings for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last season.
