The San Diego Padres are getting very close to welcoming back a huge part of their team. Fernando Tatis Jr. has been waiting endlessly for over a year to join his team again and follow up momentum from a season that saw him named an All-Star and drive 42 home runs.

Unfortunately, he became one of the most controversial young stars in all of sports. Everybody was already questioning his maturity when he got into a motorcycle accident and fractured his wrist, postponing his 2022 debut. He would then go on to get caught taking PED's in order to recover faster and has been suspended since.

But El Niño has been working day and night to rejoin a Friars squad that is currently 3-3. He was allowed to join the El Paso Chihuahua's (San Diego's AAA affiliate) prior to being eligible to be added back to the big league roster and he's been showing out.

Tatis has played two games with the Chihuahua's thus far and is currently slashing .500/.750/1.25 in his eight plate appearances. He also recorded his first home run on Wednesday.

However, Kade McClure of the Sacramento River Cats was the pitcher that Tatis took deep with this home run and he was on the wrong side of history in this case.

But McClure was not happy with the reception around this play on Twitter. He opted to remind everybody of exactly why the Padres superstar is in the AAA in the first place.

Honestly, I don't think this was a smart move on McClure's end. He's been involved in the minor leagues since 2017 and should have a firm idea as to how social media reacts to these types of highlights. Bringing Tatis down and reminding the world of his mistakes was not the right thing to do.
