Everybody should firmly understand something at this point in the 2023 season. The more you heckle Fernando Tatis Jr., the more likely it is that he's going to to send a ball or two out of the park and take home a win.

This is exactly what happened in the Padres' 6-1 win over the Yankees on Friday night as New York's crowd was letting Nando hear it off the rip. He had expected the atmosphere to be like this even before hitting the field and revealed that he was looking forward to it.

The sixth inning rolled around and thanks to a huge home run from Juan Soto earlier in the game, the Friars already held a 2-0. However it was El Nino's turn to let one rip and take a listen/look down below to experience exactly what he was dealing with from opposing fans when he stepped up to the plate.

His two-run homer certainly changed everything they were saying in that moment as he brought in Austin Nola with him and made the score 4-0.

But his response to the crowd when he went back to the outfield at the bottom of the inning made things so much better. Tatis did not have to say a single word as he just shrugged and smiled at the same crowd that was booing him and calling him a cheater... almost as if saying 'What happened to that energy from earlier?'

Nando confirmed that this action by him was nothing personal towards Yankees fans and that it's all part of the game.

"It's New York, you're going to hear everything," said Tatis. "But I was just giving a good time to the fans. You just got to learn how to embrace it and give them some good feedback."

"That home run," said Tatis when asked what his favorite comeback line to the crowd was. "They're screaming out there, I'm just trying to go with them and give them a good time."(Via 97.3 The Fan)

Through all of the adversity in which the Friars have faced as of late, their two superstars showing up in a huge away game like this one paired with a great outing from Joe Musgrove on the mound does serve as a good sign.

Please continue this energy in game two everyone! Taking this series could truly be the start of something special.
