The San Diego Padres are back at home for a three-game series against the Cubs and then some; however, prior to the homestand, San Diego was on a nine-game road trip. The Friars went 5-4 on the road trip, which ended with a win against the Miami Marlins.

San Diego won their final road game in a big way, 10-1. In it, Padres superstar Fernando Tatis Jr made franchise history, joining Willy Venable, Steve Finley, and Alan Wigigns to record at least one stolen base and three extra-base hits in a road game.

Through 38 games in 2023, Tatis Jr has six stolen bases, one of which came on the road trip. Tatis Jr also had 19 extra-base hits through 2023; his career high came in 2021 when he had 73 extra-base hits in 130 games. If he remains healthy and plays over 130 games, he could easily surpass that.

It's been a luxury for the Friars to have their young superstar back in the lineup. He brings so much energy to the lineup and on defense, two traits that make him one of the best players in the league.

This is only the beginning for Tatis. Get used to his name on the Padres' history books and breaking countless records in his time in San Diego.
