Taken Higher: Watch Texas Rangers Sing Along to Creed in World Series Celebration

The Texas Rangers celebrated with their new favorite band's music after winning their first World Series on Wednesday, singing Creed's "Higher" in the clubhouse.

PHOENIX — The Texas Rangers won their first World Series title on Wednesday night with a Game 5 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

They celebrated the only way they knew how — with some Creed blaring from the speakers of their clubhouse at Chase Field.

The celebration was already underway when media entered. Scores of beer and champagne had already been opened, with players pouring and spraying each other with the beverages.

Music was blaring from the speakers. But, shortly after that, Creed’s biggest hit, “Higher,” came up in the rotation.

It didn’t take long for the players to do what Rangers fans have been doing during this postseason run — sing along.

The band’s music became a source of camaraderie during the second half of the season, and pitcher Andrew Heaney revealed that during the beginning of the Rangers' postseason run on their road swing through Tampa Bay and Baltimore.

By the time they returned home for Game 3 of the AL Division Series with the Baltimore Orioles, it had become such a thing that the team staged a singalong early in that game.

Then, the band made an appearance at Game 3 of the American League Championship Series at Globe Life Field, which gave them a chance to embrace the Rangers and the resurgence of their song.

So, on Wednesday night, as the beer and champagne poured in the clubhouse, there was just one more thing left to do — check to see if Creed was watching.

They were and they sent along their congratulations on Twitter.

The Rangers will have a parade in Arlington on Friday to celebrate their World Series win. Expect to hear some Creed that day, too.
