The Reds lost to the Brewers 9-5 on Tuesday night. They fall to 6-5 on the season.

Here's the good, bad and ugly from tonight’s game:

The Good

Christian Encarnacion-Strand went 2-for-4 on the day, which is a huge plus considering he has struggled to start the season. He also scored twice.

Spencer Steer went 2-for-3 today with a run, a walk, and a RBI. Steer has been the best Red so far at the plate and he continues to do big things.

Jake Fraley also had a good night, finishing 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Tyler Stephenson went 2-for-4 day with two RBI. He hasn’t been great to start the year, but this was a step in the right direction.

The Bad

The Reds left eight batters on base. That was the difference in the game.

Carson Spiers struggled in his season debut, giving up three runs and seven hits in four innings. He had one strikeout and issued three walks.

The Ugly

Frankie Montas had the worst performance of his season so far. This is only ugly because we have high expectations out of Montas after two stellar performances.

Christian Yelich, Sal Frelick, and Blake Perkins just dominated the Reds all night long. They could hardly catch a break with these guys. The Reds will need to contain these guys better on Wednesday.
