The Reds lost to the Brewers 9-5 on Tuesday night.

Cincinnati starter Frankie Montas struggled, giving up five runs and six hits in five innings. He had four strikeouts and issued one walk.

Brewers starting pitcher Joe Ross dominated for most of his outing. He toss 6 1/3 innings and only gave up three runs and five hits. He had seven strikeouts over the Reds as well.

The scoring got started in the third inning for the Brewers after a fly ball single scored two runs for Blake Perkins. Perkins scored after Christian Yelich hit a single RBI.

The Reds thought they were back in the game momentarily after Jake Fraley drove in Christian Encarnacion-Strand on a line drive single to cut the lead to two before giving up two runs in the next half inning following a double from Yelich that drove in Perkins and William Contreras. Perkins later had another RBI tallied to his two to make it three following another single that drove in Sal Frelick.

In the seventh, a double from Bauers and a single from Frelick drove in three more runs to extend the Brewers lead to 9-1.

The Reds continued fighting, tacking on two runs in the seventh and two runs in the eighth to trim the lead to 9-5.

Cincinnati put two runners on base, but didn't score in the final frame, as Milwaukee secured the win. The Reds fall to 6-5 on the season.
