The Cincinnati Reds have many high-level prospects throughout their organization. One of the most recent names to emerge is Rhett Lowder.

The Reds took Lowder with the seventh overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft. He's a right-handed pitching prospect from Wake Forest. He had a great final year with the Demon Deacons.

Lowder led the nation in wins (15), making him the ace of a talented program. He also ranked fourth in the nation in strikeouts (143) and ERA (1.87), as well as eighth in the nation in WHIP (.95). He's only the second pitcher in ACC history to win back-to-back ACC pitcher of the year awards. During the season, he also held a 15-0 win-loss record and had a personal record of 12 strikeouts in a single game.

Lowder brings a nasty changeup and a fast ball that sits around 92–95, but has been clocked as high as 97 miles-per-hour.

He's listed at 6-2, 200 pounds. Multiple analysts believe Lowder was the most polished pitcher in the 2023 MLB Draft.

He was ranked No. 34 on MLB Pipeline's big board, becoming the second-highest Reds prospect. Noelvi Marte is No. 21 in their rankings.

It is safe to say that the former Wake Forest pitcher has quite a bright future in Cincinnati.
