The Yankees' offense could be getting an extra jolt this season, as infielder DJ LeMahieu is healthy and has been tearing it up in Spring Training.

LeMahieu is coming off two down seasons in a row, in which he dealt with injuries down the stretch of the season.

Now that he is healthy, LeMahieu has been raking in Grapefruit League play, going 10-for-25, batting .400 with a .444 on-base percentage and a 1.004 OPS, one home run and three RBIs in nine games.

In his first two seasons with the Yankees, LeMahieu made All-MLB First Team in back-to-back years and was an All-Star in 2019.

In 2019, LeMahieu batted .327 and had a .893 OPS, 26 homers and 102 RBIs. The following year, which was the Covid-shortened 2020 campaign, LeMahieu hit .364 with a 1.011 OPS.

If LeMahieu, 34, can get back to the 2019-2020 version of himself, it will be huge for the Yankees, who are in need of a pure contact hitter atop the lineup.

It's a good sign that LeMahieu has had such a strong spring. The hope is that he stays healthy and has a bounce-back performance for the Yankees in 2023.
