Yankees' Aaron Judge Hits First Home Run of MLB Season

Yankees slugger Aaron Judge was the first player in Major League Baseball to hit a home run this season.

Picking up right where he left off.

The home run king is back. Yankees slugger Aaron Judge homered in his first at-bat of the season, taking Logan Webb deep to center field on the second pitch he saw. 

This was Major League Baseball's first home run of the 2023 season. 

Judge's long ball traveled 422 feet with an exit velocity of 109.3 mph. He, of course, set the American League record with 62 homers last season, beating Roger Maris.

This was also Judge's first homer since signing a lucrative nine-year, $360 million deal with the Yankees and being named team captain. His homer came against the team that almost signed him in the San Francisco Giants.

While the Giants made a late push for Judge, a late-night phone call with managing partner Hal Steinbrenner locked down Judge's return to the Yankees.

The rest is history, as Judge will be in a Yankee uniform for presumably the rest of his career. And he's off to a hot start, homering on Opening Day.
