Yankees ace Gerrit Cole looked sharp in what was his final outing of the spring before Opening Day.

Cole faced the Minnesota Twins on Friday, going 5.2 innings, while allowing one run on five hits, and striking out three batters with no walks.

In five Spring Training starts, Cole went 1-1 with a 3.32 ERA, a 0.97 WHIP and 27 strikeouts across 21.2 innings.

The Yankees' ace impressed in Grapefruit League play and now looks ready for the regular season.

Cole will be making his fourth consecutive start on Opening Day with the Yankees. 

Since signing a nine-year, $324 million deal with the Yankees prior to the 2020 season, Cole has gone 36-19 with a 3.28 ERA, 3.32 FIP, 1.024 WHIP and 594 strikeouts in 455 innings across three seasons in the Bronx. He has also made the All-Star team twice and finished in the Top 10 in the AL Cy Young race in three straight years.
