He's moving on up in the system.

On Friday, the New York Yankees promoted top pitching prospect Clayton Beeter to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre.

Beeter shined for the Double-A Somerset Patriots this season, posting a 6-2 record, 2.08 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 76 strikeouts across 60.2 innings and 12 starts.

The 24-year-old is the Yankees' No. 13 ranked prospect, per MLB Pipeline. He is also now one step closer to making his big-league debut with the Yankees.

Beeter, of course, was sent over by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Joey Gallo deal at last season's trade deadline.

So far, the Yankees' return on this trade has paid dividends, as Beeter is a nice young arm in their system, who is close to being major league ready.

The Yankees' starting rotation has suffered a number of injuries this year, which has forced them to turn to the likes of Jhony Brito and Randy Vazquez. Domingo German and Clarke Schmidt have also had to step up due to injuries to Carlos Rodon (forearm and back) and Frankie Montas (shoulder surgery).

Time will tell regarding how successful Beeter will be in Triple-A, but if he can replicate what he did with the Patriots, then he should be just fine at the next level.
