The New York Yankees are currently without their superstar outfielder Aaron Judge for the foreseeable future after he slammed his toe against the concrete part of the wall at Dodger Stadium while making a spectacular catch on June 3.

In Judge's absence, the Yankees are 3-4 and are averaging just three runs per game. There's no question that they miss their captain, and need him back as soon as possible.

This led to a comment from one of Judge's teammates, who believes he shouldn't have put his body on the line against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

As one anonymous Yankee put it to MLB insider Jon Heyman: “Maybe he shouldn’t have caught that ball.”

In hindsight, the Yankees would've been better off if Judge didn't sacrifice his health in order to save a few runs and help his team win. Judge may have preserved one win for the Yankees, but cost them several more by landing on the injured list.

That said, Judge would've had a hard time explaining why he pulled up before the wall. And that's not his style of play, Judge is the type of hard-nosed player that goes all out for his team. That's what makes him special.

Judge is irreplaceable, but the Yankees' veteran players such as DJ LeMahieu, Anthony Rizzo, Gleyber Torres, Giancarlo Stanton and Josh Donaldson need to pick things up offensively.

The Yankees have also gotten some production out of their replacement outfielders: Jake Bauers, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Billy McKinney and Willie Calhoun.

Judge does not have a fracture in his right big toe, which is good news. Instead, he has a contusion and a sprained ligament in the toe. He has received a shot, but there is still no timetable for his return.
