Yankees Could Still Sign Superstar Despite Speculation Saying Otherwise

The New York Yankees may still be open for business.
The 2024 season will kick off soon and the Yankees are expected to be one of the top clubs in the American League. While this is the case, New York's starting rotation could end up having some depth issues if a couple of the club's hurlers aren't able to get back on track.
New York clearly is a contender for the 2024 World Series title but landing another stud pitcher wouldn't hurt. The Yankees have been linked to two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell on multiple occasions and he remains a possibility for New York, according to MLB Network's Jon Morosi.
"There's still a very robust market for both Snell and (Jordan Montgomery) and we just don't know exactly where they will wind up," Morosi said. "The (Philadelphia Phillies) certainly signing (Zack Wheeler) does a lot for their 2025 team and beyond but doesn't really change where they're at for 2024. Snell to the Phillies still is a possibility just like how Snell to the Yankees remains a possibility."
If the Yankees could sign Snell, they immediately would have one of the best rotations in baseball. A signing still should be considered unlikely because it would result in massive tax implications, but it would be nice.
Snell is one of the top pitchers in baseball and there has been mutual interest between the two sides seemingly all offseason.
With each passing day, Snell's may ask price drops. New York at least should still be monitoring his market just in case the price drops to a range that the club is comfortable with.
