The Cleveland Cavaliers had another big decision to make following their choice to select Emoni Bates in the 2023 NBA Draft.

The Cavs decided to pick up the $1.9 million option on Lamar Stevens for the 2023-24 season, per Shams

Those outside of Cleveland may not be as familiar with Stevens, but Cavs fans know the value he can bring to the floor. He's a slasher who plays great defense and also has a high basketball IQ on offense.

Stevens just wrapped up his third year with the Cavs. While Lamar hasn't been in the rotation consistently, he has started in 38 games averaging 16.0 minutes of playing time.

The biggest concern with Stevens' game is that he's always struggled with the long ball. He shot 31 percent from behind the arc last season and is a career 28 percent three-point shooter.

Cleveland clearly sees value in having him around and, unless anything else changes, Stevens will be on the roster for the start of next season.
