2024 NBA Draft: Breaking Down The Top 3-and-D Prospect, Zaccharie Risacher

French forward Zaccharie Risacher has had an amazing year for JL Bourg Basket, shooting the lights out while showcasing his versatile defense. Is he the top 3-and-D prospect in the draft?

The 2024 NBA Draft might not contain top-tier talent and doesn’t project to have multiple number one scoring options in the NBA, but there are quite a few prospects that have a very high floor. The 6-foot-10 French prospect Zaccharie Risacher arguably has one of the highest floors in the draft.

Let’s dive into what he brings to the table and how his draft projection looks.

Risacher is making a huge impact on one of the best teams in the LNB Pro A as his squad is currently 15-5, which puts them second in the standings. The jumbo forward has started the majority of games for his team while playing nearly 23 minutes a night. With a few more months to go in the season, we will likely see Risacher help his team make a push to winning a LNB Pro A championship.

His elite skill is his shooting ability, as 44.5% of his shot attempts come from the 3-point line and he has been on absolute fire from behind the arc. This season in a total of 34 games played, he’s shooting 48.2% from behind the arc which is one of the highest among all draft-eligible prospects. He doesn't take a high number of movement shots, but when he’s standing still he’s automatic.

On the defensive side of the ball, Risacher brings a ton of value. At 6-foot-10, he’s one of the most versatile defenders in the entire draft class. His ability to defend lead guards throughout spurts of the game is so valuable due to how disruptive he can be with his size and length. At times he has shown he can be a defensive playmaker and one of the best perimeter defenders in the draft.

With Risacher being one of the best shooters and defenders in the draft and being super productive on a professional team has skyrocketed his stock as he’s projected to be a top-five pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, despite not having many on-ball opportunities on his respected team. The ceiling isn’t quite as appealing as some other prospects but Risacher arguably has one of the highest floors in the entire draft.

You know what you will get from the 6-foot-10 prospect at the next level but what team would take him at the top of the draft? The Portland Trail Blazers could use a floor spacer and defender like him and he would be a very good fit next to Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe. The Detroit Pistons could use a shooter and someone who can really defend. It will be interesting to see how teams value his high floor as we move closer to draft night.
