2024 NBA Draft: Ignite Prospects Participating in All-Star Weekend

The All-Star weekend is right around the corner and there are a lot of fun activities for the event. The Ignite prospects will be participating in them! What can they gain from this event?

Earlier today, it was announced that eight G League Ignite prospects will be heading up to Indianapolis for the All-Star weekend activities.

The players that will be attending are Izan Almansa, Matas Buzelis, Thierry Darlan, Ron Holland, London Johnson, Dink Pate, Babacar Sane and Tyler Smith. Four of these prospects are currently projected to be a first round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft but let’s dive into how All-Star weekend could help boost these prospects' stock.

These prospects will be participating in what’s called the “G League Up Next Game.” The G League Up Next Game will be held as part of NBA All-Star 2024 on Sunday, Feb. 18 at 1:30 p.m. ET at G League Park in NBA Crossover at the Indiana Convention Center. The event is a tournament-style format where each team will have its own general manager, who will draft their squad in an attempt to build the best squad to win the tournament.

Last year we got to watch the number three pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Scoot Henderson play in this tournament, but Dyson Daniels was a prospect that really caught scout's eyes as he showcased his two-way ability. This year we could see an underrated prospect take the court and really showcase their skills in front of the world and if they perform well in the tournament then there will undoubtedly be talks amongst scouts and NBA personnel about how good that particular prospect looked.

The prospects also could be in some sort of skill’s challenge as that hasn’t quite been announced yet, but nonetheless it’s great to see these young G League prospects have a chance to show how they matchup against other top G League talent as guys like Emoni Bates, Luka Garza, and Skal Labissiere will be participating in the tournament. Some notable names these prospects will be facing off against so it should be a must watch tournament for all of the NBA Draft fans.
