As the calendar year comes to an end, conference play is set to begin very soon. We've gotten a good sample size on most of the players at the college level that will be looking to make the jump to the NBA this summer, as tiers and draft boards begin to unfold.

There's a lot of time left in this season, which can be good or bad depending on the player. It's tough to maintain a full season of elite production, but the best prospects get better as the season goes on.

Whose stock has risen? What about fallen?

This week, we look at the draft stock of Devin Carter based on recent play.

Carter is a two-way talent that really has the ability to make an impact early in his NBA career. As is relates to draft stock, he really wasn't on the radar entering this season as a lock to get drafted, but he's now making the case to at least be a second-round selection. He doesn't boast elite athleticism, but is smooth and can create for himself.

The 6-foot-3 guard is known for making big buckets and being the difference in the clutch. Carter is also an elite rebounder for a guard and always finds himself in the right place on the court.

What truly sets Carter apart is his defensive upside. He's one of the best in the country on that end and has produced 1.3 blocks and 1.3 steals per game this season. At the point of attack he is extremely disruptive and plays a lot bigger than he is.

According to Cerebro Sports, Carter has notched an 83 DSI and a 10.3 C-RAM (Gold Rating). He's proven to be one of the best defensive players and quietly one of the most impactful prospects in the country overall.

Carter is a former four-star recruit and top 100 player in his high school class. He also has basketball pedigree, with his father (Anthony) playing at Hawaii in college before 13 seasons in the NBA and ultimately now being an assistant coach for the Memphis Grizzlies.
