G League Ignite's Ron Holland Reportedly Done for the Season

Per Andscape’s Marc Spears, G League Ignite forward Ron Holland II is done for the season.
The move comes out of caution to protect his injured right thumb, Holland told Spears. But he is expected to make a full recovery and will undergo the full pre-draft process.

At 18 years old, Holland was one of the top recruits in the 2023 high school class, and was another monster addition to a surging G League Ignite program, along with Matas Buzelis.
It’s unfortunate timing for the former Texas commit, who was finally beginning to hit his stride in the G League.
A 6-foot-8 forward with tremendous defensive acumen and an improving offensive game, Holland is sure to be a candidate for the top picks in the draft, if not the No. 1 pick overall, depending on who selects there.
Holland played in 14 games with the Ignite, averaging 20.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.5 steals and 0.6 blocks per game. He shot 45% overall, just 24% from beyond the arc and 76% from the free throw line.
General inefficiencies and turnovers — 2.9 per game — marred some of his season. But there were plenty of highlights, too. His athleticism popped in each and every contest, in tandem with his defensive versatility. And while his shooting was only coming around near the end, he was still able to put up gaudy scoring numbers with relative ease.
The next we hear from Holland will likely be in the 2024 pre-draft process, where he'll showcase his talent for various NBA teams. Despite some in-season woes, Holland has likely locked himself into the top-ten for 2024.
