NBA Rookie Ladder: Keyonte George Soars as All-Star Break Nears

The NBA rookie ladder continue to see movement as we near All-Star weekend.

We’re nearing the NBA All-Star break, where rookies and sophomores alike will compete in the NBA Rising Stars game.

Despite the impending weekend of rest, rookies are continuing to heat up. Here is the Draft Digest rookie ladder as of Thursday, Feb. 8:

1. Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio Spurs

Wembanyama again tops our rookie list, continuing to put up some all-time gaudy numbers for a frosh.

In his last three games he’s come down with 41 boards, and has even found some success from beyond the arc, hitting seven threes in a four-game span.

The scoring has been down just a tad in that span — just 17.6 to his near-24 a game in January — but he’s still been otherworldly.

2. Chet Holmgren, OKC Thunder

After a down January due to a highly condensed schedule, Holmgren has re-found his earlier mojo in February.

In his last four games, he’s scored 19.5 points, grabbed 8.0 rebounds, dished 3.3 assists and issued 3.3 blocks per game. Most importantly, he re-found his efficiency: 56% overall and 54% from beyond the arc.

Holmgren seems back to his high-impact ways, but Wembanyama is now in the drivers seat after a white-hot month.

3. Brandon Miller, Charlotte Hornets

With the shipping of Terry Rozier to Miami, the Hornets have fully unleashed the offensive weapon that is Brandon Miller.

He’s scored 35 and 33 points in his last two games, and is scoring 23.6 in his last 10.

Despite that, Charlotte is riding an eight-game losing streak. But Miller’s development as a go-to scoring option is certainly more important than this season alone.

4. Jaime Jaquez Jr., Miami Heat

5. Keyonte George, Utah Jazz

6. Dereck Lively II, Dallas Mavericks

7. Ausar Thompson, Detroit Pistons

8. Scoot Henderson, Portland Trail Blazers

9. Cam Whitmore, Houston Rockets

10. Brandin Podziemski, Golden State Warriors
