The long-awaited debuts of the NBA’s newest class are almost here.

NBA Summer League 2023 kicks off on Monday, meaning we’ll get our first look at what was regarded as a strong draft class.

Here are some of the top matchups to watch heading into what should be a fun week of basketball:

Victor Wembanyama and Brandon Miller

As is unspoken tradition, the top two picks from the draft are set to face off: Victor Wembanyama’s Spurs versus Brandon Miller’s Hornets.

Wembanyama has been heralded as one of the top basketball prospects of all time, and with significant production at Alabama, Miller has plenty of hype too.

The two teams face off at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 3. But with Wembanyama set to play limited Summer League minutes, their matchup on Friday, July 7, in Las Vegas may be their sole outing.

Scoot Henderson versus Amen Thompson

The third and fourth overall picks, Scoot Henderson and Amen Thompson are set to potentially face off at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 7.

Two of the more athletic prospects in recent memory, the Trail Blazers-Rockets matchup should feature plenty of high-flying action.

Chet Holmgren and Dereck Lively II

After missing last season due to injury, all signs are pointing towards former No. 2 pick Chet Holmgren taking the court again for Summer League.

OKC’s first Las Vegas matchup will be against Dallas on Saturday, July 8, meaning Holmgren will potentially be taking on one of the top rim-protecting prospects from the 2023 class: former Blue Devil Dereck Lively.

Both 7-footers will similar frames and play-styles, it could be a fun matchup.
